Living With The Cat

Regine Hehn

There are very different ways to get your living-room-tiger. Perhaps you heard the miaou of a little baby cat at your garden door and just opened it. From now on you will have a new housemate!

Or perhaps you did inform yourself on one of these cat exhibitions, felt in love with a Persian cat or an Egyptian cat. Perhaps you visited friends, where a little tiger jumped on you lap
Of course there is also another possibility, the neighbors dog's constant barking made you lose control and you shouted "In my home there will never be a dog!" Cats hear this, believe me!
Perhaps you are only one step away from buying a pet because your little son or daughter have been working on you for a while. It is also possible, that you are feeling lonely in your new flat. There are thousands of ways to Rome and you have decided to buy a cat.

Many people read books about cats, pets, how to treat them, because they want to avoid mistakes with the new housemate. These books have titles like "The cat and I" or "The new pet" and they all tell you almost the same. If you don't have any experience with cats, it makes sense to spend four Dollars and buy one of these books.

It doesn't make any difference, if you buy a pedigree cat or you found your new friend somewhere on the street, where they use to show up every now and then.

They all need some treatment and attention, need to be feed twice a day and if ever possible, at least once a year they should see the vet.

Now when the little cat is ready to start his life in your home, you should need to do some preparation to make the cat feel at home and to make you stay feeling at home. A side of a fix place to feed the cat - perhaps in the kitchen - it also needs its pet-toilet. If your little cat had had the chance to stay at least twelve weeks with his mother, he should have learned already how to use it. If no so, you will have to give your cat the first little lesson. But stay calm, it is no big deal to make your cat get used to the pet-toilet and he will never forget and he will also like to use it. At this point let me say something very important, the cat will have to have access to the pet-toilet at any time he needs to use it, so please don't look it away over the day. Keep the access clear and don't change the place without showing it to the cat. That avoids little accidents; the cat could feel a shame for.

You do not need to spend much money on a luxury pet-toilet, at the beginning a big plastic bowl will do. Buy some white cat sand at the supermarket, put everything in its place and wait until ten minutes after feeding your cat. Then it should start to look for a 'useful' place. Take it and set it into the pet-toilet. Show your cat, how to play with the sand. The rest is nature.

Cat Health

It is no wonder, then, that cats are divided into two categories: the indoor cat and the outdoor cat. Depending on the owner and his or her trust of their cat’s intuition and their living environment, the independent cats are afforded the opportunity to roam free. This gives the cat the independence it desires, and in so doing, making him or her happier than if it were confined to indoor quarters. An outdoor cat does carry with it risk, though; the likelihood of the cat dying earlier, due to environmental factors, than it would as an indoor cat is considerably higher.

The indoor cat doesn’t have the same independence, creating a sort of cabin fever effect that can negatively impact a cat’s personality and inborn independent nature. But, the likelihood of a cat living a long life is greatly increased because, of course, environmental dangers don’t factor into its life like it does with the outdoor cat.

But because cats are so fickle and so hard to determine, how do you know the true nature of your cat? Furthermore, what can you do to guarantee the health a cat needs to survive in the quiet confines of your home or out on the range?

With the electronic manual, you’ll find out this and a whole lot more. Things like how to know what your cat’s real needs are, the best diet for your cat, what the perfect environment is for your cat, things you should never do with your cat, the exercise plan that fits your cat, the proper weight for your cat, ways in which to get your cat to form good habits and much, much more.

There's Nothing Like A Cute Cat

There comes a time in everyone’s home when it must be decided if it’s going to be a home with a pet or a home without. This is an easier decision for some than it is for others; there are some of us who grew up in a home that was never without a dog or cat; there are others of us who did not have a pet growing up and are eager to fulfill this childhood dream in adulthood. Ultimately, pet ownership is a choice only your family can make, as is the type of pet you choose - for dog lovers, a friendly pooch; for feline lovers, a cute cat.

But let’s face it; a cute cat is subjective. Cats come in a variety of breeds – in all sizes, colors, hair lengths, and personalities. A cute cat for one person may be a sparkly eyed Burmese; for another a sleek Siamese. When choosing a cute cat, it is most important to take into consideration your particular needs as a cat owner. If you are someone who enjoys company from your pet, then you may want to find a cute cat that’s friendly and people-oriented. If you are a busy professional who is content to see your cat over a meal, then there are number of independent-minded cats that like their personal space.

When choosing a cute cat for your family it is also important to be mindful of the amount of grooming that each particular cat breed requires. Longer-haired cats need frequent grooming to keep their matting at bay; shorter-haired cats need far less grooming and may be best for busier households or for those who have allergies. Before purchasing any cat, however, it is important that you are prepared – not just for the grooming but for the space considerations, need for a litter box, diet and nutrition, and veterinary needs. It is essential that if you are going to be a cat owner that you are a responsible one.

Whether as a purchase for yourself or a wonderful gift for someone you love, a cute cat will brighten your world and change your home forever.

Cat Care

Having a cat can be fun. Cat care can be a little bit of work, not much though. Cats are independent. Here are a few tips on cat care that will help insure your cat to be as healthy as they can be.
• The first tip is that you should get you cat or kitten to the vet as soon as you get them. The vet can check the cat over and make sure there is nothing wrong with the cat. In addition, your cat will get the shots they need.
• Make sure you have your cat spayed or neutered. Having your cat spayed or neutered will do two things. It will help your cat live longer and control the cat population.
• Use a spray bottle when your cat is being bad. NEVER hit your cat if they are bad. Spray the cat or kitten with water and say “bad” or “no.” Make sure you do not spray them too much also. Spraying them too much can cause a cat to be aggressive to you.
• Get a cat box and kitty litter. Changing the kitty litter once, a week is good. Clean out the waste everyday if you are changing the kitty litter once a week.
• This really is not a tip but it will toss it in here as one. Give the cat or kitten love. The more love you give the cat or kitten, the more you will receive back from the cat or kitten.
• If the cat is going to be an indoor cat, have them de-clawed. Having the cat de-clawed saves, you time spraying the cat when they claw on you furniture and other stuff in your home.
These are just some tips to get you started with you new cat or kitten. Give the cat or kitten a cute name and have fun with him/her.
